Brand SA teams up with Billie Justice Thomson for Buy SA Week.

To celebrate Buy SA Week, Brand SA teamed up with iconic local painter and illustrator Billie Justice Thomson to create some fun, vibrant illustrations that showcase the best of South Australia, and celebrate our love of all things local.

Born and raised in Adelaide, Billie moved interstate for eight years before moving back to South Australia to start a family. She was also motivated to move back when she saw so many of her friends succeeding in South Australia, and it felt like there was a lot of support here.

“I really enjoy being in South Australia because it feels like people support one another,” says Billie.

“Not just in an emotional sense, but in a whole community sense — a kind of connectedness that I associate with people looking after one another, and having each others backs”.

Known for her nostalgic, bold food imagery and murals, for this collaboration Billie has created a suite of custom illustrations that capture the essence of some of South Australia’s most loved local brands and quality produce.

“I feel immensely honoured that my work is shared and enjoyed, as much as I enjoy making it. A great project and something I believe in.”

The colourful collaboration is about encouraging South Australians to support the incredible producers, makers, and businesses right here at home.

Iconic South Australian brands featured in the creative include Beerenberg Jam, Bickfords Lime Juice Cordial, Fruchocs, San Remo and Vili’s. South Australian citrus, tomato, oysters, cheese and bread are also included to highlight the fresh produce and high-quality products our state is known for.

Billie’s artwork will feature across the Buy SA Week campaign including print, outdoor and digital, encouraging shoppers to taste, sip, shop and save across the State.

Buy SA Week runs from 28 July – 3 August 2025, but supporting local is always in season.
