'Tis the season to support local at Adelaide Arcade

Adelaide Arcade

Get into the festive spirit and support local at Adelaide Arcade this Christmas.

Adelaide Arcade is one of the most beautiful places to do your Christmas shopping — not only because it’s filled with festive atmosphere and decorations, but because 90% of the businesses are local, South Australian owned!

Adelaide Arcade offers so many unique retailers, offering thoughtful gifts for every kind of person — and you can feel great knowing that when you shop small, you help support local families (some of which have been owned by the same families for generations).

Here's just a few South Australian owned stores that you can support this Christmas.

AURUM JEWELS
Jewels

Aurum Jewels is a South Australian family-owned and operated business opened in 2002 by Brigitte and Tony Zollo.

Aurum brings you a beautiful hand-picked collection of jewellery from Australia and worldwide. Specialising in South Sea pearls, diamonds, gold, silver, and custom-designed jewellery, they also source from a vast range of precious and semi-precious gemstones. The boutique carries exclusive ranges from Europe’s most prestigious manufacturing jewellery houses and offers a wide range of jewellery services including repairs, rethreading, and insurance replacement quotations.

Having over 40 years of industry experience, owner Brigitte, exudes the spirit of Jewellery in Adelaide, and is often referred to as “Adelaide’s most stylish jeweller”.

FRIDA LAS VEGAS
Frida Las Vegas

Friday Las Vegas is owned by artist and designer Stavroula Adameitis, who is known for her bright and bold textiles, neon artworks and installations.

Each Friday Las Vegas textile is designed with the explicit intention of making the wearer feel nothing short of fabulous. All Frida Las Vegas garments and accessories are consciously printed and produced in Australia in small production runs in sizes 6-26. Friday also offers fully customised garments, striving to celebrate each individual, where a bespoke textile print is produced for each person.

Knitwear is produced in partnership with 'Knit One Change One (KOCO)'. KOCO's education and employment program upskills women working in rural India, starting a new economic cycle for each knitter who gains full-time employment and financial independence.

MAD ZOMBIE CO
Mad Zombie

Unleash your inner geek at Mad Zombie Collectables, Adelaide's go-to store for memorabilia and collectibles such as action figures, apparel, toys and replicas.

The store carries a wide range of stock from Diecast to Horror, Sci-Fi, Star Wards to Disney and everything in between. This store is perfect for finding quirky Christmas gifts, especially stocking fillers. Shop for the cookie jar you’ve always wanted, the funky socks you just can’t live without, or the coffee mug that holds your life force. They have it all!

ORCHARD BOOKSHOP
Orchard Bookshop

Orchard Bookshop is owned by Adelaide book purveyors Kate Treloar and Nick Patrick and offers an ever-changing selection of recommended reads for the discerning reader with a mix of vintage, new, and collectible books.

Key areas include literature, cult classics, art, cookery, philosophy, and children's books. Local published authors also have the opportunity, once a month, to spruik/showcase their book to the people who select Orchard Bookshop's stock. As bookshop owners, Kate and Nick want to hear about and support local gems.

Earlier in 2024, the highly regarded Australian Traveller Magazine listed Orchard Bookshop as one of the top ten cutest bookshops in Australia and a must-visit Adelaide destination.

T'ARTS COLLECTIVE
T'Arts Collective

Textile & Arts Collective is a unique Gallery focusing on locally created South Australian gifts and works of art. The Gallery, run by local artist members, was established in 2003 in Gay’s Arcade. T'Arts is a not-for-profit organisation managed and operated by its 34 members. All the members of T’Arts Collective are working artists, mainly from Adelaide, who exhibit in the gallery and take turns in the shop for a day.

From delicate glass, silver jewellery and woven, wearable textile art in jewel colours to quirky garden ornaments in metal, sculptures, leatherwork, homewares, gifts, wall art and more.
